From A10 (Poitiers):
Take Junction 34 sign-posted to Cognac
- NOT Junction 33 which is signposted La Rochelle and Rochefort.
When you come off the motorway, follow
the signs for D739 to Tonnay Boutonne. Keep on this road
past Tonnay Boutonne
(you
don't actually go through it but skirt round it) and then follow
the signs for Lussant.
Just before you come to Lussant, you
are looking for a right turn to Moragne - don't take the
first one, but wait until
you see the second one. This is easily identifiable as there
is a large used car garage called "Opal" on the corner.
Follow the road through Moragne (past the
Mairie's office on the left) and, just after you get out
of the other side of
Moragne, take a left turn towards Muron (D215). La Pilette
is the next hamlet and where Les Capucines is situated.
We are on the left hand side of the road
as you drive through - a large cream two storey building
with natural wood shutters
- and the last house in the hamlet.
You actually drive past the front of the house and then you see a drive with
black gates at the top. Guest parking is up here.
From A837 (La Rochelle):
Follow the N137 from La Rochelle down
towards Rochefort - stay on this until junction 33 (round
about
Rochefort
it changes to the A837 which is a motorway
but there isn't a toll until you come off at junction 33).
Junction 33 is
signposted to Tonnay Charente/ St Jean d'Angely. Once through
the toll, you meet a roundabout and follow the signs to Tonnay Boutonne
and Lussant (4th exit) - grain store on right.
Drive about a mile to another
roundabout where you should take the second exit signposted
to Muron (D117). Follow this road for just over 2 miles.
You pass
between two lovely Charentaise houses - one on either side of the road
- in a place called Chanteloup. Just after this take the second turning
on
the right,
marked the D215 to Moragne. Follow this road through the little hamlet
of Les Forges and, once out the other side follow the road along, round
a Z
bend and
then Les Capucines is the first house on the right. Come up the driveway
(black double gates at the top) and guest parking is here. |
