Terms of Hire and Use

The vehicle MUST NOT be used:

  • For hire or reward, driving tuition or any competitive motor sport, hill climbing, pace-setting, track days, racing, off-road or for any illegal activity
  • In an un-roadworthy condition – the car will be provided in a roadworthy condition, if at any point it ceases to be roadworthy the hirer must stop driving it and report to us immediately so we can effect repairs or recovery.
  • For carrying pets of any description
  • For any journey outside France.

Smoking is not allowed in our cars at any time.

Any breach of these conditions will render the hirer liable for any damage or loss incurred on return of the vehicle.

Our Expectations of You As The Customer

Upon accepting the booking and then completing the hire agreement form you agree to the following:

  • You will, during the hire period, lock the vehicle whilst unattended. You must protect our interests and those of our insurers by not exposing the vehicle to unnecessary risks.
  • Ensure that only nominated drivers drive the car and that they are fit to drive and not under the influence of drink or drugs. Any medical condition must be under control with any medication.
  • Not drive in a reckless manner incurring damage to the car, its occupants or any other party.
  • If the car is stolen, you must report the theft to us and the Police at the first opportunity.
  • In the event of an accident, you must collect witness details, the addresses, car and insurance details of any drivers involved (in France all cars must display details of their Insurance cover on a small certificate in the windscreen). You must not admit any liability at the time of the accident and must complete a report for our insurer.

Our Position

We will not accept any liability for any loss to the hirer or any third party for any loss arising from the hirer’s ability to use (or inability to use) the car under hire.

The hirer is responsible for their own property whilst hiring the car and we will not be responsible for any loss incurred from the car.

Finally

We are here to help you have a pleasurable and memorable holiday. Please remember that our older cars are around 40 years old and therefore not as robust as a modern car. Be prepared for a “different” driving experience and please respect the cars. They will occasionally go wrong and stop! However they are usually easy to fix and we will get you back on the road as soon as possible.
