Les Capucines is a restored traditional Charentaise style farmhouse dating back to the XVIIth century. The original stables and barn have been converted into three spacious and well equipped gites, sleeping two, five and six people respectively : Le Grenier, L’Ecurie, and Le Marronnier. The British owners live on-site and you are assured of a warm welcome.

You will find us just 10 miles inland from Rochefort-sur-Mer, in a tranquil, but not remote, hamlet of just 15 houses. We are surrounded by rolling countryside, and the local shops are just 2 miles away! Explore the department of the Charente-Maritime, famous for it’s seafood restaurants and fabulous climate, it is located on the Atlantic coast and includes the offshore islands of Aix, Oléron and Ré. The seaside town of Rochefort is steeped in maritime history and nearby Fouras has white sandy beaches for those who love the combination of sea, sun and sand!

Alternatively, spend your holiday relaxing on our vast terraces beside our sheltered 12m by 6m swimming pool. Here at Les Capucines we understand that everyone has their own idea of a perfect holiday. For some it will be a little tranquility and a chance to catch up on a bit of reading – you will always find a quiet corner here. For others it is time to relax, explore and have some fun!
